Flight Series

The Flight Series, similar to the Double Bind Series, explores the use of store bought paper sewing patterns as an unorthodox painting material. These paintings explore the graphic metaphor between the diagrammatic instructions of garment making and the engineered schematics of flying machines and ultimately the dichotomy between gender stereotypes associated with sewing and hand stitching with those of flight and mechanical strength.
